Although Adelaide has always been described as the City of Churches, Athens of the South and the Festival State, one thing is for certain; it really is a great place to live! Adelaide sits in between sheltered waters and beautiful rolling hills. The city centre is centred between two points on the major river, the River Torrens. Surrounding the city, parks offer well-marked bicycle and walking tracks, children’s playgrounds, formal gardens and beautiful picnic spots, many with barbecues. The world-famous Barossa Valley, Clare Valley and McLaren Vale are perfect spots to try some unique Australian wines.

Access to wherever you want to go is quick and easy, either by car or by public transport as well as easy access to the city. And there’s plenty to do and places to visit. South Australia’s reputation as the Festival State is well deserved from its world-famous Festival of Arts to a host of regional and multi-cultural festivals and special events. For longer breaks, Kangaroo Island, the Flinders Ranges, York Peninsular, Eyre Peninsula, the Riverland and the South East of the Sate all offer spectacular scenery.
